Terms of sale
Last updated 5 November 2026
These terms apply to every order placed on SMPForge. Please read them before you buy; at checkout you confirm that you agree to them.
1. Who we are
SMPForge is run by Velyra Digital (Eenmanszaak, owned by Tristan van Beek), Herengracht 320, 1016 CE Amsterdam, Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KVK) number 42168180, VAT number NL005552105B96. You can reach us at support@smpforge.com or +31 6 28 12 62 85 (Monday to Friday, 12:00–20:00 (Dutch time)).
2. What we sell
SMPForge sells digital server packages for Minecraft: Java Edition. A package is delivered as a ZIP download and contains:
- the configuration for your server, generated from the template, modules and settings you chose in the Forge;
- the SMPForge Dashboard, software for running and managing the server on your own computer;
- the SMPForge plugins that provide the modules in your build;
- free third-party engines: ViaVersion in every package, ViaBackwards and ViaRewind depending on the oldest Minecraft version you let players join with, and for builds with crossplay, Geyser and Floodgate;
- an installer that, on the first start, downloads the Minecraft server software (Paper or Purpur 26.3) and, for builds with voice chat, Simple Voice Chat straight from their publishers, and checks each download against a pinned checksum;
- launchers and a README with instructions.
Packages don't include Minecraft itself, a Minecraft account, hosting or a server computer. The server software downloads Mojang's Minecraft server files on its first start, under Mojang's EULA, which you accept in the dashboard. The launchers download the Java runtime the server needs (Eclipse Temurin 25) if your computer doesn't have it. You need either your own computer or a hosting provider to run a server. Each template and module page describes what it does; the package preview in the Forge shows the files you'll receive.
3. Payment
You pay once, on the secure checkout page of our payment provider Stripe, with one of the payment methods it offers you there (such as card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and for payments in euros iDEAL and Bancontact). We never see your full card details. Your bank or card statement shows the payment as VELYRA DIGITAL or SMPFORGE. Refunds go back to the payment method you used.
Checkout pages marked test mode take no real payment. Orders placed in test mode are for trying out the store and create no obligation to pay. We may delete them at any time.
4. Prices
Prices are shown in the store and at checkout before you pay. They are one-time prices for the package; there is no subscription. We set our prices in euros. Depending on where you are (or the currency you choose at the bottom of each page), the store shows them in another currency, converted at the European Central Bank's reference rate of the day and rounded. You pay exactly the amount shown at checkout, in that currency. Outside the European Union, visitors from some countries get a lower regional price, set by local purchasing power and based on the country you're in when you order; the store says so next to the price. We may not sell in every country, for example while a tax registration there is pending; the checkout tells you before you pay. Prices for consumers include VAT where it applies: it's worked out at checkout and comes out of the price you see, so the total you pay doesn't change. Bundle discounts are calculated automatically and shown in your order summary.
5. Your order
The agreement is formed when your order is confirmed after payment (or straight away for free orders). The order page you see afterwards is your confirmation: it lists what you bought, the price and the time you agreed to these terms. Keep its link; it gives access to your downloads. We also email you a receipt with the link. Orders you place from your browser are listed under My Forge, and with an account on every device you sign in on.
Accounts and activation
An SMPForge account is free. You can buy without one, but every server belongs to an account: to download your package, your order has to be linked to an account (we call this activating your server). You can create the account at checkout, from your order page, or later by claiming the order with the order number from your receipt under My Forge. An order belongs to one account. If you claim an order that was bought with a different email address, we first ask that address to confirm.
Keep access to your email address and password safe: anyone who can read your email can sign in with a one-time link. You can delete your account at any time; your orders stay on record and keep working through their order links.
Discount codes
A discount code gives the stated percentage off the order total, once per order. Personal codes (such as the Forge Insiders welcome code) only work with the email address they were issued to and only once. Codes can't be exchanged for cash, can't be combined, and stop working after their expiry date. A refunded order doesn't give a used code back.
6. Delivery
Packages are delivered digitally as downloads on your order page and in My Forge, as soon as your order is confirmed and activated (linked to an account, see section 5). If you create your account at checkout, that's immediately. You can download a package again later. If we release an updated version of a template or plugin, we may make it available as a new download.
7. Right of withdrawal
If you're a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. For digital content that is delivered straight away, that right ends once delivery starts, provided you agreed to that beforehand. At checkout we therefore ask you to confirm that you want your download immediately and that you understand you lose your right of withdrawal once it's made available. You can't complete a paid order without that confirmation. Your package is made available when your order is activated, so until then you can still withdraw within 14 days of your order by emailing us. This doesn't affect your rights if a package is faulty (section 9).
8. Licence
When your order is confirmed, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
- run the package on servers you operate or that are operated on your behalf (for example by a hosting provider);
- change the configuration files as much as you like.
You may not resell, publish, share or redistribute the package, the SMPForge Dashboard or the SMPForge plugins, on their own or as part of another product, and you may not try to remove licence checks or reverse engineer them except where the law allows it. All intellectual property in SMPForge, its templates, plugins and software stays with Velyra Digital.
Third-party software (section 2) isn't ours: the engines and the server software come under their own open-source or publisher licences, which your package lists with source links in THIRD-PARTY.json. Those licences, not this one, govern how you may use and share them.
9. If something doesn't work
Your package must work as described. If it doesn't, contact support@smpforge.com with your order link and a description of the problem. We'll fix it, send you a corrected package or, if that isn't possible, refund you. Consumers keep all their statutory rights regarding conformity of digital content.
10. Running your server
You are responsible for the server you run with a package: its hosting, security, backups and community. You must follow Mojang's Minecraft End User License Agreement and usage guidelines, your hosting provider's terms and the law. Don't use SMPForge for anything illegal or harmful. You can report abuse or safety concerns to safety@smpforge.com.
11. Liability
We are liable for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, and as required by mandatory consumer law. Beyond that, our total liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren't liable for indirect damage such as lost world data, lost income or problems caused by third-party hosting. Keep backups of your worlds. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by contract.
12. Complaints
Send complaints to support@smpforge.com. Tell us your order link and what went wrong; we'll reply and try to resolve it with you. If we can't agree, you can take the dispute to the competent court.
13. Law and disputes
Dutch law applies to these terms and to orders placed on SMPForge. If you're a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of that country. Disputes go to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless the law gives you the right to go to a court where you live.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The version you agreed to at checkout applies to that order. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
